I enjoyed Nynaeve, Egwene, and Elayne's p.o.w. the most, simply because learning more about the Aes Sedai is fascinating. I can't believe how they keep getting captured over and over again - I understand that they are young and unwise, but is this going to happen in every novel. Egwene is becoming more independent, although I am not sure that Elayne had much character growth.
I liked Mat better this time around. He has stopped whining and moved towards acting, and his unworldly luck and staff skills have made him capable. Perrin interested me the least, but I think this was because he was tailing along with Moiraine and Lan, rather than striking off on his own. Even though Rand was present little in the book, I think it adds to the mystery of what is exactly happening to him.
I thought the end battle was rushed, a little too short and not well explained. Maybe in the next book?
