This novel gets better each time I read it. I love how in the beginning, I always think how foolish and irrational Raskolnikov's actions are...but by the end I am close to agreeing with his intentions. I enjoy that Doestoyevsky doesn't give a a true answer for the problem he presents, but this novel is written to engage others in thought.
I think Dostoyevksy wrote excellent dialogue and I was absolutely entranced by the all of the interactions between characters. I do think the novel is a tad bit too long, which prevents me from giving it 5 stars, but it won't prevent me from recommending this to others.
If you want to read a Russian classic, this is a great choice and you will not be disappointed!
